OVERVIEW
Gadag Transmission Limited (GTL) is an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) project in Karnataka, acquired by IndiGrid in FY2025-26. The project is a critical part
of the transmission infrastructure supporting renewable energy evacuation from the Gadag Solar Energy Zone, one of Karnataka's key solar generation hubs.
Operational since September 2024, GTL comprises approximately 187 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and a 1,000 MVA substation, with provisions for
future augmentation. Developed under the Build-Own-Operate-Maintain (BOOM) framework, the asset facilitates the evacuation of around 2,500 MW of solar power,
strengthens regional grid connectivity and expands IndiGrid's presence in Karnataka, supporting India's energy transition.
The acquisition was completed by the end of FY2025-26, with operational performance tracking commencing from FY2026-27.
Details of GTL’s project elements are set forth as follows:
| TRANSMISSION LINE / SUBSTATION | ROUTE LENGTH (CKMS) | SPECIFICATIONS | COMMISSION DATE | EXPIRY TERM OF TSA |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Transmission line | 187 | 400/220 kV | 31st August 2024 | September 2058 |
